Come celebrate a traditional Swedish Midsummer with SWEA!
The Swedish Women’s Educational Association is hosting a traditional Swedish Midsummer event at the Lafayette Reservoir on Saturday, June 24.
There will naturally be dancing around the Maypole and please come early and help out with the dressing of the pole with flowers and greenery.
Participants will bring their own picnic lunch and beverages (it’s ok to bring beer or wine in the park). Please note that it can be pretty hot so remember to bring water and a hat. There are bbq spots at the location if you want to cook something there, remember to bring charcoal. There are plenty of benches in the shade or bring a blanket to sit on.
It’s traditional that the women (and men) wear a flower wreath. If you want one for yourself bring some flowers and we’ll help you make one.
